Methods of presenting the art subjects.
The different methods of presenting the art subjects or ideas used by artists are :
It is the attempt of portraying the subject as it is. The presentation and organization of details are natural. This method existed since literature began. Examples of this are Amorsolo’s paintings.
Abstraction means “to move away or separate”. Abstract art moves away from showing things as they really are. Under abstraction are:
Distortion – it is manifested when the subject is in misshapen condition, the regular shape is twisted out.
Elongation – it refers to that which is being lengthened or and extension.
Mangling – shows subject or objects which are lacerated, cut, hacked or mutilated with repeated blows.
Cubism – shows form in their basic geometrical figures.
Abstraction – characterized by great varve. large canvases and deliberate lack of refinement in the application of paint.
It shows something that is invisible. It uses symbols of the real ideas. For example is the use of lion as a symbol of bravery.
This shows unreal things. It is just fiction, things that cannot happen in real life. It can be fantasies and dreams.
It is showing future technology, usually flying motorcycles and trains. It shows technology that is not yet present in the present.
It shows happiness by the use of extremely bright colors.
